Course Title Tour2Include Course - Migrant’s Integration into Tourism-Related
Course Description This course introduces low-skilled migrants working or wishing to work in different job positions in the Tourism Sector to acquire the necessary skills and qualifications in order to facilitate their integration into the labor market and enhance their employability in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry. The aim of this course is to cover the needs and preferences of groups with or without advanced digital skills, to foster intercultural/soft skills that are equally important with the typical qualifications so as to increase migrants' access to formal employment, reducing their exposure to undeclared work, through their upskilling.
Who this course is for Migrants, Refugees or TCNs with low qualifications or short working experience in Tourism and Hospitality Sector. Alternatively, it addresses the needs also of those who would like to work in the Tourism Industry (EQF 4 & EQF 5).
Course Curriculum This course includes 5 lessons (modules), in which, soft and intercultural skills, cultural issues, methods of communication with customers, body language principles, tourism-related professional skills, career opportunities, and digital skills in the Tourism Sector are presented. Furthermore, this course includes a Glossary that aims at helping learners to better understand and familiarize themselves with the key terms across the modules of their learning path. Finally, a special documentary about the "Cultural Profile of Germany, Greece and Italy" has been developed in order to inform the migrant learners about the fundamental information on the host country and familiarize them with the particular customs, traditions, and eating habits that might be
exist within a country
What will you learn After this course, learners will achieve the following learning outcomes:
• To enhance their soft, intercultural, and digital skills and competencies, which are needed in today's tourism sector market;
• To better understand the importance of health, safety, and hygiene in the tourism-related professions;
• To recognize the different sectors, types, and professions within the Tourism & Hospitality Industry;
• To know some practical methods on communication, marketing, and promotion in tourism job positions;
• To apply the theoretical knowledge they gain through this training programme in real-life situations and work environments.
Course Duration The total length of the whole online course is approximately 7 hours of study (including the assessment activities/quiz) . The learner could add an amount of additional educational materials into his/her learning path (extra links and online resources) provided by Tour2Include project in order to increase the course length.
